Background:

The world of sports car racing has always been an international spectacle with drivers, cars and teams from many countries competing against each other. In today's sports car world, there is great division between sanctioning bodies about how the rules should be written and the specifications for cars, races and point systems. As a result, there are now five major series that are run with sports cars. The ACO, ALMS / PSCR, FIA-GT, ISRS and USRRC series all compete for the teams, drivers, cars and fans.

In this splintered world, there are drivers, teams and cars that compete in one, two or more series. There are even some teams that compete in all of the series. Each series has its own championship and these champions are crowned by their respective series.

Missing in this competition is a World Championship that recognizes the overall world winners. That is why Cyber Motorsports has created the Cyber Cup to recognize these winners. At this time, there are no prizes and no trophies, only the recognition that drivers, teams, cars and engines have competed and won in the international world of sports car racing.

Scoring:

There are no classes in the Cyber Cup Championship... only overall winners in races from the six selected series. It doesn't matter if the winners are prototypes, GT1 or even GT2 or related classes. We only award points for the first six finishing positions and award one point each for pole position and for setting fast lap during the race.

Points:

A. Points awarded for the top six positions in the ACO, ALMS /
PSCR, FIA-GT, ISRS and USRRC events.

B. Points awarded for finishing positions:

1. 10 points

2. 7 points

3. 6 points

4. 5 points

5. 4 points

6. 3 points

Pole: 1 point

C. Races are weighted to reflect the race lengths ie.: Le Mans
& Daytona are weighted at a factor of 5.0 while sprint
events are weighted at 1.0. The weighting factor for each
event and the points for each event are listed below.
