Mountains, rises to 12,633 ft. (3853 meters). These peaks remain snow
covered for most of the year. Flagstaff located at 7,000+ ft. (2135
m) can experience severe winters.
Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff is where the planet Pluto was discovered. The observatory is also where the recent celestial phenomenon of the Schumacher-Levy comet that crashed into Jupiter was first discovered. |
